Amma

Amma is a story told through pictures about a boy looking for his mother in a fair. Inspired by Gabriel Garcia Marquez's story, Kavita Singh Kale's remarkable illustrations have sounds of a village fair. The urgency to look for his lost mother echo in your heart. For instance, the boy's wish to look for his mother from above reflects in the boy's depiction as the tallest of them all.

Like a fair, every illustration has many characters and each of these characters seem to have a story of their own. There is much to read in this nearly wordless book.
